"I have an insane belief in my own ability to manifest things." - Jim Carrey

2.8.2011

We can't escape the feeling this was meant to be.  Looking back it seems we were gathering good info and motivation.

The first of the year really lit a fire in my belly...that and the looks of my personal bank account.  Right around that time, I saw Behind the Actors Studio with Jim Carrey and the last thing he told the class was "I have an insane belief in my own ability to manifest things."  Something about that statement really hit home with me, so I've been carrying it around with me in my back pocket.

I decided to really start focusing on starting up some music classes.  On January 11th I bought a domain name and started on my website the next day.  I began mentioning my idea to Moms as I saw them and got some great feedback and thoughts on where I could possibly rent some space.

About 2 weeks ago, Tim and I found ourselves watching the show "Masters Class" on the OWN network.  We listened intently to 2 successful men sharing their wisdom, convinced we would need to know this stuff someday.  This is what we walked away with:

"It takes talent, luck and discipline.  It still might not happen but you need all three." - Lorne Michaels

"If I like it, I believe other people will like it as well." - Simon Cowell

"You learn it as you go along. You don't get smart at 17. You just don't unless, you know, you're one in a billion. It just isn't going to happen that way. It will normally happen over time. And it's the getting there which has been the most fun. You've got to be patient and enjoy, as I said before, the process of getting there. Because I promise you, it's a lot more fun than being there." — Simon Cowell

There was also something said by one of them about not understanding the people sitting behind a desk that really want to be doing something else.

Interesting.
